DRAPER — Margaret Eugenia McDonald Loftus died of natural causes June 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. 
Margaret was married to her beloved soul mate, J. David Loftus of Sandy, Utah, for 55 years. 
Margaret was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Tupper Lake N.Y., the only child of Helen Briere and Harold C. McDonald.
A graduate of Oswego State University, she was a 4th-grade teacher in New York, Michigan and Connecticut. 
She married J. David Loftus of Syracuse, N.Y. on May 6, 1961. 
Formerly a resident of Lansing, Mich., and Coventry, Conn., “Marney” was an active member of the Catholic Church, including religious instruction, the Women’s Guild, and support of the local and State-level Knights of Columbus. She held an assistant director position with Literacy Volunteers of America-Wasatch Front. Her passions were French cuisine and travel.
She is survived by her husband, David “Boomer” Loftus; daughter Jane (Todd Conway); sons Joseph (Nicole) and Matthew; grandchildren Todd Jr., David (Kimberly), Ashley, Alexander (Shontay), Taylor, Cannon, Curtis and Kaiden; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sheila, and parents Harold and Helen McDonald. 
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
