The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, blesses Phil and Shirley Hopkins on their 50th wedding anniversary during the Scout’s Religious Emblem ceremony March 17 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. During the ceremony, the Hopkins’ grandson, Christopher Clyne of Pack 3202, received the Parvuli Dei award. The Hopkins, members of Saint Olaf Parish in Bountiful, met at the University of Cincinnati. They have three children and five grandchildren.
