Christmas Production — Lux Dei (the Light of God) will feature the entire Juan Diego CHS performing and visual arts students and faculty and provide a fresh perspective on the birth and life of Christ. “The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass” — Saturday, Dec. 10, 7-8 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Lisa Bachiller, a certified lay ecclesial minister for the Diocese of Salt Lake City, will present. All are invited to this retreat. No cost.

Parish Game Night — Saturday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church’s social hall, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. Cost: $15 for games; $5 for dinner.

St. Catherine of Siena portrayal — by Adrian Dominican Sr. Nancy Murray, who is renowned for her one-woman performance of the saint’s life. Sunday, Dec. 11, 1 p.m., St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Newman Center, 70 S. University St., SLC. Cost:  $7 adults / $5 children. Tickets are limited. Healing of the Sick Liturgy — Sunday, Dec. 11, after the 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. All are welcome.

Sandy Hook Vigil — A Taize meditation to honor all victims of gun violence. Sunday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 Foothill Dr., SLC. An interfaith event sponsored by the Gun Violence Prevention Center of Utah. No cost; all are welcome.
 
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe —  Monday, Dec. 12. Check your parish for Mass times. Celebrations at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC, will begin with a rosary in Spanish at 8 p.m. Sunday, followed at 9:30 p.m. by an outdoor procession. At 10 p.m. will be a vigil with mariachi music and the Cathedral Spanish Choir. Mass will be celebrated at 11 p.m., followed by a reception. On Monday, Masses in English will be at 8 a.m., noon with the Madeleine Choir School, and 5:15 p.m.

Salt Lake Singers — perform a “Most Wondrous Night,” Friday, Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., SLC. Free with a donation to the parish food pantry.

Pastoral Center closed — Friday, Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m. for a staff Advent luncheon. The Pastoral Center will reopen 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

Service of Lessons and Carols — by the Choir of Saint Ambrose. Monday, Dec. 19, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., SLC. Enjoy hot cocoa and apple cider from 6 to 7 p.m. while singing carols around a fire, then take part in a presentation of Christmas music and reflections on the mysteries of the season.

Pastoral Center closed — Friday, Dec. 23, for the Christmas holiday. The Pastoral Center will reopen 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Collection — The St. George Women’s Group is collecting new and used stuffed animals, warm scarves, gloves and hats for the children of the Beryl Catholic community. The Saint Paul’s Women’s group has joined their efforts. Any items (or funds) may be brought to the church.

Reserved Seating Passes — for the Christmas Midnight Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine are available by calling the rectory office, 801-328-8941. They are available to cathedral parishioners through Dec. 16. Beginning Dec. 17, the passes will be available to the general public. The passes, which are free, must be picked up the same day they are requested.
 
Perpetual Adoration — The Adoration Chapel at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 506 24th St., Ogden, is available 24 hours a day for those who wish to pray. For information, call Jesse Ricardez, 801-564-7356; or Joan Opheikens, 801-866-2481.
