Manis for Grannies
Friday, Jun. 03, 2016
The Council of Catholic Women at St. Christopher Parish in Kanab provided “Manis for Grannies” on May 19, giving manicures to residents of the Kane County Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility and Beehive Home. One “client” revealed that this was as very special treat because this was her first manicure EVER and she was in her 80s! Nine women served as manicurists; six were CCW members, two were visitors from Missouri (who found out about the event when they attended St. Christopher’s daily communion service and volunteered on the spot) and one was from the local United Church of Kanab and Fredonia congregation. The manicurists went out for lunch together where they enjoyed group prayer and lots of “sister-shipping.” The volunteers were CCW members Colleen Petullo, Barbara Mossinghoff, Adele Burbridge, Laura Teel, Sherilyn Brydon and Shelli Bzdewka; visitors Natalie Gallatin and Kaitlin Gallatin; and Jo McFadden of United Church of Kanab & Fredonia.
