Prayer for Vocations — A special period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the diocese of Salt Lake City. St. Mary Parish, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, will host devotion the week of May 14-16. The parish has a perpetual adoration chapel. Weekend Masses parishes ask adorers during their specific adoration hours to pray for vocations during this special week.
Open House — Tuesday, May 12, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Madeleine Choir School, 205 1st Ave., SLC. No appointment necessary, just stop by for information and tours of the campus. Festival Golf Tournament — Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. at South Mountain Golf Course, 1247 E. Mike Weir Dr., Draper. Cost for players is $95. Proceeds go toward St. John the Baptist Parish. Festival of Roses — May 15-17 at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. The festival is open to the entire community and offers many activities. Solemnity of the Ascension — The celebration of the Solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord will be celebrated Sunday, May 17, in the Diocese of Salt Lake City.
Three-night Mission — May 17-19, 7-8 p.m. each evening at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City. Father James Sichko, a renowned motivational speaker and pastor of St. Mark’s Parish in Richmond, Ky., will lead the mission. He is the author of Among Friends. No reservation is needed to attend.
Memorial Day Mass — Monday, May 25, 9 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 275 U St., SLC. Celebrated by Archbishop John C. Wester. Graves decorations may be placed May 22 and remain through May 31.
St. Mary Stampede Rodeo/Carnival — Thursday, May 28, 4 p.m. at Hooper Park, 5600 South 6300 West, Hooper. Ben German, Broken Heart Rodeo Co., will provide his championship stock. Carnival, food, music and vendors will be present May 28-30.
