Vocation Awareness Night — Monday, Nov. 20, 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Speakers will include members of various religious orders and a diocesan priest. Pastoral Center Closed — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Friday, Nov. 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Pastoral Center will reopen Monday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Free Concert — Friday, Nov. 24, 7 p.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane, Holladay. Scott Larrabee will conclude his four-part Scott Joplin concert series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of Scott Joplin. Narrated by Michael Allen Gray. All are welcome. Family friendly. A freewill offering will be collected to benefit Sr. Angela’s Assistance Program for the Poor.

Mass at Alta — Weekly Mass begins at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Alta on Sunday, Nov. 26 and will continue through the ski season. Mass is at 5 p.m. in the chapel, located directly across the street from the Alta Lodge, next to the Shallow Shaft restaurant. Mass on Christmas Day and Easter Day will be at 10 a.m. There will be no Christmas Eve Mass this year.

Diocesan Advent Retreat — Saturday, Dec. 2 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. The English session will be 9-11:30 a.m., followed by a bilingual liturgy at 11:30 a.m..-12:30 p.m. The Spanish session will follow from 12:30 to 3 p.m. The presenter for the English session will be Fr. Joseph Delka, parochial vicar of St. Joseph Parish, Ogden. The presenter for the Spanish session will be Fr. Christopher Gray, parochial vicar of the Cathedral of the Madeleine. St. Ambrose Church Rededication –  Thursday, Dec. 7, 6 p.m. Mass with Bishop Oscar A. Solis presiding, followed by a celebratory gathering in the social hall. The church is located at 1975 South 2300 East, SLC.

Planning Your Calendar? — Msgr. Colin Fr. Bircumshaw, vicar general, reminds all pastors, deacons, principals, religious and laity charged with creating calendars for their parish, school or Catholic organization that in keeping with a longstanding policy, no local events should be scheduled to conflict with the annual diocesan Advent retreat, which is scheduled for Dec. 2; and the annual Lenten retreat, which is scheduled for March 3, 2018.

Help Needed — Saint Joseph’s Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane, SLC, is in need of volunteers and liturgical musicians (volunteers) for the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, particularly on the second and fourth week of each month. Volunteers help residents to and from their rooms to attend Mass. Ushers, lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist also are needed. For information, contact Fr.
