Labor Day — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, for the Labor Day holiday. 
 
Level I Training — for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Thursday, Sept. 8, 6-9:30 p.m. at the Diocese of Salt Lake City Chancery Building, 303 E. JMCHS Annual Youth Bulldog Boogie — All boys and girls ages 5 and up are invited to participate in the 28th annual Bulldog Boogie on the McCarthey Stadium field on Friday, Sept. 9. Registration is ongoing through Sept. 6. Clinics will be held at Judge Memorial CHS, 650 East 1100 East, SLC, on Sept. 6-8. For information, visit www.judgememorial.com. 

Folk Fest — at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. The three-day festival begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and goes through Sunday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. Live music and entertainment, food booths, beer garden, car show, craft fair, Highland games, outdoor Mass and brunch on Sunday, kids’ games. Game Night — Saturday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish’s social hall, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. Cost: $15 games; $5 dinner.
 
National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children— A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, Noon – 1 p.m. at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 275 N. U St. (1252 E.), SLC. All are welcome to join the prayer. 

CBN 2nd Annual Golf Classic — Sunday, Sept. 11, at The Ridge, 5055 S. West Ridge Blvd., WVC, to benefit Utah Catholic Schools. Tee time is 1:30 p.m. For information, visit www.utahcbn.org.

Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday Sept. 11, 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. With Juan Paradell Solè, titular organist of the Sistina Pontifical Chapel Choir (Vatican/Rome). Free and open to the public.

JMCHS Homecoming — Judge Memorial-St Mary of the Wasatch alums are invited to join in the annual Homecoming festivities on Friday, Sept. 16. Pre-game, alumni only event at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. kickoff. During half-time, five state championship football teams will be recognized:  1976 girls’ tennis, 1981 football, 1991 boys’ cross country, 1991 boys’ tennis. More than 30 speakers will explore many aspects of forgiveness for today’s world. The $45 registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and dessert with exhibitors. Fruit of the Vine night — Alumni, parents and friends of the University of Utah, Westminster, and Salt Lake Community College are invited to St. Catherine  of Siena Newman Center for a social in support of the parish’s campus ministry and educational programs. Spaghetti Dinner — 84th annual all-you-can-eat event at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 South 9000 West, Magna. Sunday, Sept. 25, 1-7 p.m. Single-serving take-out begins at 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the parish's operations and programs.
