Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel —will be celebrated Tuesday, July 16, at the Carmelite Monastery, 5714 Holladay Boulevard, Holladay with a rosary at 9:30 a.m., solemn Mass at 10 a.m., followed by enrollment of the scapulars. All are invited.

The Feast of Mary Magdalene — will be celebrated with a 6 p.m. Mass Thursday, July 21, at Magdalene Religious Goods, 836 East 3300 South, SLC. Fr. Joe Delka will be the celebrant. Beer Fest — Sunday, July 24, 1-7 p.m., at the Madeleine Choir School, 205 E. 1st Ave., SLC. Local breweries, food trucks, inflatables for the kids and live music. Cost: $60 at the door, includes six drinks. Early bird admission: $50. Designated drivers and guests under 21, $10. 

Yard Sale — July 28-30 and Aug. 4-6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 634 North 600 East, American Fork. A wide variety of items, including furniture, will be sold. For information, call 801-756-7771.

Jubilarian Mass of Thanksgiving — Friday, July 29, St. Joseph Church, Ogden, 506 24th St., Ogden, will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for Fr. Ken Vialpando’s 25th anniversary as priest, and all married couples celebrating their Silver or Golden wedding anniversaries. A reception will follow the service.

CWL First Friday Mass – Friday, Aug. 5, the Catholic Woman’s League will meet at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns for Mass at 9 a.m., followed by the rosary and breakfast at IHOP, 7188 Plaza Center Dr. (Jordan Landing). CCS Backpack Bonanza — St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus Council 13297 is collecting backpacks filled with school supplies, new socks and underwear for children in K-8. Return the backpacks by Aug. 7 to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC.

Clergy Appreciation Dinner — Thursday, Aug 11, St. Ambrose Parish social hall, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Open to all. Hosted by the Knights of Columbus Padre Pio Assembly #2636. The honoree is Fr. David Bittmenn, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Social at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. Marian Concert — Sunday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m., at Sacred Heart Parish, 946 South 200 East, SLC. The concert will include Gregorian chant, and works by Dufay, Alfonso el Sabio, La Vigne, Franco, Weckmann, Monteverdi, Handel, and Arañés by heArt Music Ensemble and featuring the combined choirs of Sacred Heart Parish. Free and open to the public.

Concert — Sunday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. Paul Koleske, a contemporary Catholic musician, will offer a concert of music and inspirational spoken reflections. The concert is free but a free-will offering will be accepted.

Annual Italian Day at Lagoon — Sunday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. Children’s and adult games. This year sausages and Italian sodas will not be served; it is suggested that those attending bring a picnic. Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — Monday, Aug. 15, is not a holy day of obligation this year. (The NCCB decree of 13 December 1991, confirmed by the Apostolic See on 04 July 1992, stipulates that whenever Aug. 15 falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.)

Catholics CAN Mass — celebrating the gifts of and contributions made by people with disabilities. Aug. 28, 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park. All are welcome.

Catholics Can Award — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Commission for People with Disabilities is accepting nominations for the annual Catholics Can Award, which may be given to a parish, an organization or an individual who ensure all are welcome and served in our local Church.
