Leprechaun Lope — The 27th annual 10K/5K/2-mile fun run will be Saturday, March 12 at 8:30 a.m. from the State Capitol to Memory Grove. Prizes for costumes. Astronomy presentation — by Brother Guy Consolmagno S.J., director of the Vatican Observatory. March 13, 3 p.m. in the Juan Diego CHS auditorium, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Free and open to the public; a reception featuring student science projects will be in the school’s Great Hall beginning at 2 p.m.

Choral Meditation — Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School, will present G. B. da Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC.  Free and open to the public.

Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil — Saturday, March 26. Msgr. Colin F. Bircumshaw, diocesan administrator, has determined that the Easter Vigil may not begin earlier than 8:30 p.m. in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. 

Easter Sunday — is March 27. The Triduum begins with the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, March 24, and concludes with Vespers on Easter Sunday.

History Essay Contest — for Catholic students in Grades 5-12. Contest submission deadline is March 23. Six contest divisions, winners receive cash prizes and winning essays will be published on the Catholic Textbook Project blog and Facebook pages. Summer volunteer program — in a Franciscan Friars of the Atonement “At-One-Ment” ministries of healing and reconciliation. June 17-Aug. 14. For single Catholic men ages 19-25 who have completed at least two years of college. Priority deadline is April 1. Applications received after April 1 will be reviewed on the basis of availability. Healing Mass — Every third Saturday of the month at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 3560 West 3650 South, West Valley City. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 8 a.m.
