Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday, Sept. 8, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. International prizewinner Amanda Mole will present a varied program.

Parish Dinner/Game Night — Saturday, Sept. 14, for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at the Lions Club, 320 Hillcrest St., Copperton. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner from 5:45-6:30 p.m. Games begin at 6:30 p.m.

Parish Game Night — Saturday, Sept. 14, 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish’s social hall, 670 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City. Cost/$15 parish games; dinner $5.

Festa Italiana — Saturday, Sept. 14, noon – 10 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 15, noon – 7 p.m. at The Gateway, 18 N. Rio Grande St., SLC. Food, wine, art, music. $13 admission.

Run for the Nuns — Sunday, Sept. 15, 8 a.m. at the Carmelite monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. The 5K Run/Walk through the neighborhoods surrounding the monastery kicks off the Carmelite Fair; followed by breakfast and a medals ceremony. $25 entry fee. Carmelite Fair — Sunday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carmelite Monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. Day includes live and silent auctions, entertainment and children’s games in support of the cloistered Carmelite nuns who pray for you. Catholics Can Mass — Sunday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, celebrated by Bishop Oscar A. Solis. This annual Mass celebrates the many gifts and contributions made by people with disabilities in the diocese. A second Mass will be celebrated Oct. 20, 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Sponsored by the diocesan Commission for People with Disabilities. Blessing of the New Crucifix — Bishop Oscar A. Solis will celebrate Mass Sept. 15 at St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center, 170 University St., SLC, at 6:30 p.m. and also bless the replica of the Cross of the Stigmata that recently was installed.

Level II Training — for those who minister Eucharist to the sick and shut-in. Thursday, Sept. 19, 6-9 p.m. at the Chancery Building, 303 E. South Temple, SLC. $15 workshop fee covers materials. RCIA at Saint Ambrose Parish — program resumes Friday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m. at the Vaughan Center, 1975 South  2300 East, SLC. The program uses the Symbolon series from, which can be accessed online. Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith is welcome to attend.  

San Lorenzo Ruiz and San Pedro Calungsod Celebration — Sunday, Sept. 29 celebration at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. 5 p.m. procession, Mass at 6 p.m., followed by a reception.

87th Annual Spaghetti Dinner  — Sunday, Sept. 29, 1-7 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 2864 South 9000 West, Magna. Take outs begin at 11 a.m. Outdoor beverage garden (ID required), Italian cookies and raffle baskets.

Book Discussion — of “Contemplative Hunger” by Father Donald Haggerty. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 9800 South 1700 East, Sandy. Sponsored by the Secular Carmelite Community.
