St Francis of Assisi Game Night — Friday, Sept. 11, dinner at 6:30 p.m. and games at 7 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Cost is $14.

Red Mass — Friday Sept. 11, noon at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The annual Red Mass for those in the legal professions is sponsored by the St. Thomas More Society; celebrant will be Father Martin Diaz, the Cathedral pastor.

St. Thomas More Game Night — Friday, Sept. 11 at Saint Thomas More Parish’s Meyer Hall, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Doors open at 6 p.m.; play begins at 6:45 p.m. Cost is $14 per person, which includes dinner and games. Must be 18 years or older to play.

Madeleine Choir School Beerfest — Saturday, Sept. 12, 6-10 p.m. at the choir school, 205 First Ave., SLC. $25 entry includes souvenir mug and six 4-oz. tastings; designated drivers and guests under 21, $5. Sponsored by local brewers. Colosimo’s sausage will be served by the Knights of Columbus for $12 a plate.

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children — Saturday, Sept. 12.  Joining other pro-life Americans on this day, Utah Catholics will gather for a prayer service at noon at the baby monument near the mausoleum at Mt. 22nd Eccles Organ Festival — the opening concert will feature Gabriele Terrone, the organist for the Cathedral of the Madeleine. The program includes works by Alain, Bach, Franck and the entire 6th Symphony by Widor. Sunday, Sept. 13, 8 p.m., at the Cathedral, 309 E. South Temple. Open to the public; free admission.

Fall Fest — Sunday, Sept. 13, picnic and carnival in the Skaggs Catholic Center’s in Bell Tower circle, 300 E 11800 S., Draper. Festivities are geared toward young families. Open to the public.

Religious Education for Deaf Children — Beginning Sept. 13, 10:15-11:15 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Classes will be taught in American Sign Language for ages 3-16. Level II Training — for those who minister Eucharist to the sick and shut-in will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, 6 – 9:30 p.m. at the Chancery Building, 303 E. South Temple, SLC. Guest Speaker — Dr. Daniel P. Castillo, assistant professor at Loyola University Maryland, will speak on the environment, poverty and the Book of Genesis at the invitation of the Religious Studies Program at the University of Utah. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon in the University of Utah’s Language and Communications Building, Room 2110. The public is invited to attend.

Parish Garage Sale — Knights of Columbus St. Ambrose 15418 will host a multi-family, parishwide garage sale Saturday, Sept. 19, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Household items, tools, clothing, shoes, furniture, wave runners, and more. 

Festa Italiana — Festival celebrating Italian culture, food and entertainment. Saturday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; 400 West 300 South. Holy Cross Ministries fundraiser — The Autumn Harvest Benefit for Holy Cross Ministries’ school readiness and after-school programs in Park City will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 4 p.m. at St. Regis Deer Valley Resort, 2300 Deer Valley Dr. in Park City. Carmelite Fair — Sunday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. the Carmelite monastery, 5714 S. Holladay Blvd., SLC. The fair is the  main source of income for the cloistered Carmelite nuns, who spend their lives praying for the world. They need your help to continue their contemplative vocation. The fair offers a day of family fun, with games, rides, food, raffle, entertainment, and silent and live auctions. Donations, either monetary contributions or new items, can be dropped off or sent to the monastery. There are also a 5K run/walk/jog and a golf tournament to benefit the Carmelite nuns. Western Celebration — Friday, Sept. 25, 6-8 p.m. at San Andres Parish, 315 East 100 North, Payson. JD Shepherd Band will provide the music for the adult-only country dance from 8-midnight. The western theme will be complete with cowboy poetry at 9 p.m. provided by local poets. Presale prices are $10 for dinner only, $20 each for combination dinner/dance or $35 per couple. Pregnancy Resource Center Gala — Keynote speaker for The Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City’s annual fundraising gala, “Hope Can Change Everything!” Banquet for Life 2015, will be Sarah Palin. Prayer for Vocations — A special period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the diocese of Salt Lake City. San Andres Parish, 315 East 100 North, Payson, will host this devotion the week of Sept. 6. On Sunday, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be from noon to 5 p.m. On Monday-Friday, Sept. 7-9, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
