LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Beth Nevin Murnin died Nov. 6, 2015.
I came into the world on Jan. 31, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah. My parents were Olive Maude Lewis and Clarence Alfred Nevin. I was the eldest of eight sisters and brothers: Joyce Nevin, Edithe Gladden, Clarence “Tuffy” Nevin, Bonnie McMillian, Robert Nevin, Steve Nevin, and Len Nevin.
I was married for 43 years to the love of my life, John Joseph Murnin, in Park City; we had two loving children: Mary Ellen Heise (John Heise) and Stephen John Murnin (Lori Murnin). I had three wonderful granddaughters: Michelle Lynn Paulson, (Brian Paulson), Jennifer Cirimele (Greg Cirimele) and Kristi Murnin; and six great-grandchildren: Ethan Paulson, Dana Paulson, Isabella Cirimele, Colby Paulson, Zachary Paulson, and Alexa B.  Cirimele.
While living in Bountiful, Utah, I always enjoyed spending my time with family and friends, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, St. Vincent soup kitchen, and working on the many projects with my St. Olaf Parish family. These projects included stocking stuffers, parish council, fundraisers, luncheons and much more.
I spent 14 years working at the Bountiful Liquor store. I loved to bowl, golf and do aerobics. A hole-in-one was a highlight, and best remembered are the great times I had with my many, many friends, who can forget us cheering at the Utah Ute games!
In the past eight years living in Las Vegas, I was blessed with many friends at Willow Creek Memory Care. I was honored to be named the “Bingo Queen” and was known as one of the “Golden Girls.” I was fortunate to acquire a whole new set of southern Nevada friends who treated me like family. I enjoyed championing senior causes such as leading the Alzheimer’s walk and participating in community events.
As always one to celebrate, I invite family and friends to join in my celebration of life on Dec. 15 at a Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, at 11 a.m.; luncheon to follow at the Benvegnu Center. In lieu of flowers please help the people who have helped me: Alzheimer’s of Southern Nevada, http://act/alz.org/site/TR/Events/Tributes-AlzheimersChampions?pg=fund&fr_id=1060&pxfid=318708.
