SALT LAKE CITY — Betty Yanni, 91, passed away Oct. 10, 2014. 

Yanni was born April 30, 1923 in Ogden to James Alva and Esttella Clausse West. She married Ernest Yanni on March 4, 1946 in Salt Lake City. She worked as a registered nurse. She volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen and was active in numerous parish events, one of her favorites being the St. Martin de Porres Spring Fashion Show. 

Yanni is survived by daughters Kerry May, Roxanne (Mike) Vaculin, Raelynne (Mike) Jefferies; son Ralph (Laurie) Yanni; daughter-in-law Stephanie; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and sister Pete Attison. 

Yanni was preceded in death by her husband; son, Joe and four brothers. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
