We will miss your smiling countenance, your wisdom, your diplomacy …
We will miss your leadership in Church matters; your negotiations with all powers that be …
We will miss you in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
We will miss our Irish bishop whose roots are in the old sod of County Cork.
We envy Santa Fe … and we wish you the very best future there.
May the sun shine softly upon your head, and the rains fall gently on your fields, and
Until we see you again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
