Catholic Community Services was named the recipient of the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable’s 2014 Community Award during a Jan. 30 awards breakfast. Jim Jardine (shown far right), representing the roundtable’s Board of Directors, presented the award to Brad Drake, CCS executive director. "This is a much-honored group, but I can’t imagine a group more deserving," Jardine said. "Catholic Community Services of Utah, since 1945, has been helping people in need to achieve self-sufficiency through their programs. They sponsor many support programs for the homeless and hungry, including the Saint Vincent de Paul Dining Hall, which served 35,000 meals in December. … Not only do they serve so many people in our community, but they represent a model of interfaith participation in their employees, in their board and in the opportunity for people of all faiths to serve within the umbrella of Catholic Community Services." Shown with Drake accepting the award are Janet Healy, CCS agency volunteer coordinator and a member of the Interfaith board; Adan Batar, CCS director of immigration and refugee resettlement; and Danielle Stamos, CCS PR and marketing coordinator.
