Clara Marie Montoya Munoz passed away Aug. 31, 2017, in San Leandro, Calif. She was born in Nambe, N.M., on Aug. 16, 1922 to Adolph Montoya and Catalina Lujan. Raised in Bingham Canyon, she graduated from Bingham High School in 1942 and began working for the Naval Supply Depot. Three years later, she moved to California and worked for an insurance firm.
She married Victor Munoz and raised four children in San Leandro, Calif.
Her husband, Victor, and brothers Frank Montoya of Midvale, and Ben Montoya of Scio, Ore., preceded Clara in death.
She is survived her children Victor, Jr., Cathy, Diane and David; and her siblings Edna Martinez, John and Phillip Montoya.
A funeral was held on Sept. 14, at Felicity Catholic Church in San Leandro, Calif.
