Members of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish carry the crucifix to the sanctuary on Ash Wednesday. The crucifix, which had hung in the old church before it was demolished, had been stored while the the new church was being built. The crucifix is one of several items from the old church that will be incorporated into the new church. Father Patrick Carley, pastor, asked parishioners to view the crucifix as a reminder that they, themselves, are disciples of Christ and must willingly take up their own cross to follow Him.
