The Saint George Catholic Church sponsors the only non-denominational Cub Scout Pack in St. George. Members of Cub Scout Pack 4802, which was organized in 1996, range in age from kindergarten to fifth grade. Under the leadership of Charter Organization Representative Jackie Comeau and Cub Master Carl Phillips, 14 of the pack’s 33 scouts and 12 parents turned out in late May for a service project at the parish. This project involved painting curbs red to designate no-parking areas in the Scanlan Building parking lot. Service projects are just one way the scouting program teaches the Cubs about community service and helping others. This past spring, seven of the pack’s scouts became Boy Scout Tenderfoots.
