Deacon Mark Allen Bourget Sr.

Deacon Mark Allen Bourget Sr. died Nov. 30, 2017, the result of a motorcycle accident.  

Mark Allen Bourget Sr. was born in Fitchburg, Mass. on Nov. 25, 1958, the son of Robert A. Bourget and Shirley Turner. While a child in grade school, he moved with his family to Tooele, and grew up there. He received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Joseph L. Federal on March 23, 1972 at St. Marguerite Parish.

Mark and Esther were married on June 29, 1985. Mark applied to enter the Diocese of Salt Lake City Diaconate Program in August of 1993 and was ordained a deacon by Bishop George Niederauer at the Cathedral of the Madeleine on Nov. 30, 1997.  He served as a deacon at St. Marguerite Parish from 1997 to 1999.

In April of 1999, Deacon Mark moved with his family to Saint George. From then until the time of his death, he ministered at Saint George Parish.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 7 at St. George Catholic Church.
