Deacon Willie T. Folkes passed away at his home Jan. 18.

Deacon Willie was born on Dec. 14, 1938. He was ordained a Deacon for the Diocese of Salt Lake City by Bishop George Niederauer on January 24, 2004 and served as a deacon at St. Peter Parish in American Fork through the summer of 2007.  He and his wife Lydia moved to St. George, Utah, and served at St. George Parish from Oct. 14, 2007 until his passing on Wednesday.  

The funeral liturgies will take place at St. Peter Parish in American Fork, Utah, with a visitation at 6:00 p.m. and the Funeral Vigil with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Church on Sunday evening, January 22, 2017. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m.  Father James Blaine will be the main celebrant.  Burial will follow at Camp Williams.  Requiescat Deacon Willie in pace.
