Ludivina “Vina” Louise Valdez Borreo

Vina was born in Sunnyside, Utah, to Fernando and Leonor Valdez. She was the oldest of six children. At the age of 16, she went to work to help support the family because her father passed away. In 1945, she fell in love with the love of her life, Ismael “Tony” Borreo. They were married for 79 years.

Tony was in the Air Force, and she accompanied him to Japan, Morocco and various other bases in the United States. They met many lifelong friends while raising two sons. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Family and church were her priorities.

Vina leaves behind her husband Tony Borreo, two sons Anthony and Michael, her sister Mary Valdez Burges, and many loving nieces and nephews. Vina is predeceased in death by her parents, brothers Manual “Veto” Valdez and David Valdez, sisters Victoria Valdez Neale and Odilia “Lila” Valdez Dobbs.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 14, 2024 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, Holladay, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Utah Humane Society. A celebration of Vina’s life will be held at Cedarwood Senior Living, 10970 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah, that day from 2-3 p.m.
