Eagle Scout

Friday, Mar. 20, 2015

Christopher Clyne, a member of the Saint Ambrose Parish-sponsored Boy Scouts of America Troop 202, recently attained Scouting’s highest rank, the Eagle Scout Award. An eighth-grade student at J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School, Clyne passed his Eagle Board in December and was Troop 202’s third Eagle Scout for 2014. The Troop recognized both Trent Niederee and Nick Steffen earlier in the year. Clyne has been a Troop member and leader since May 2012. “Sometimes I get asked how long it takes to become an Eagle Scout; at just over two and a half years, I don’t think you could do it more efficiently than Christopher, who chooses to attend almost everything, volunteers at all the service projects, and has been elected to troop leadership positions by his peers at every opportunity,” Troop Committee Chair Ted Frederick said. “He earned his Eagle-required merit badges in an organized manner and with an end-game in mind. And it’s never been scouts and only scouts for him. He’s a great student, plays multiple sports, is a talented musician, a team player, and a nice guy. He’s valued the unique experiences of scouting and has had fun along the way. That is pretty much what it is all about.”
