The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, speaks at the ecumenical Stations of the Cross, which began at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. He is shown with Father Martin Diaz, the cathedral pastor; Michael Imperiale, pastor of First Presbyterian Church; Rev. Curtis L. Price, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City; and Bishop Scott Hayashi of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah.

At the ecumenical Way of the Cross in Salt Lake City on Good Friday, the Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, joined other Utah Christian leaders and the faithful as they participated in the Stations of the Cross, a procession that wound its way to various churchs in Salt Lake City.
"We take a moment today to acknowledge the suffering and the death of Christ, and also to acknowledge our own suffering," said Bishop Wester at the beginning of the procession, which started at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.
He acknowledged that, sadly, Christians are separated, but "we are united even in more important ways, not just in our sufferings but in our firm conviction that Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and the life. Thanks be to God that we are united right now, in this moment, with Jesus as Lord and Savior, and as we take up our cross tonight and follow him."
