Sept. 22,1923 — Nov. 8, 2016
Harold Bardsley was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Centerfield, Utah to John and Marie Bardsley. He was a twin in a family of seven children. His father was from England and his mother was from Denmark. His family had a farm with cows, sheep, chickens and crops. He had many chores including milking the cows.
After graduation from high school, he moved to California. Not long afterward, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was a carbine sharpshooter. (That’s what it says on his military papers. Who knew?) He was stationed in Guadalcanal, Luzon, Korea and Occupied Japan, and served three years.
When he returned, he met and married Della Mora. They had three children, Paula, Mark and Lisa. Mark passed away 21 years ago.
In 1952, the couple moved to California, where they raised their family. Harold and his brother Reed owned a bar and restaurant called the Cheerio in Leimert Park, Calif.
Harold and Della moved back to Utah in about 1986.  His hobbies were bowling and gardening. He had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a caring and kind person and loved his family very much. He loved to sit in the garage, drink beer and the neighbors would often stop by and chat.
He is survived by his wife, Della, daughters Lisa Vargas and Paula Hiatt, and the grandchildren. He has one living sibling Quentin Bardsley. He has always been deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

OUR DAD
 Our dad was always kind,
meticulously groomed
and loving.
His caring, down to earth
attitude came from being raised on a farm,
where the lives of man
and animal depend on each other.
Animals sensed his gentle spirit.
Particularly a pit bull named, “Bullet.”
Bullet became his constant companion.
The breed, often thought of as mean
was not true of Bullet.
He was precious,
just like the man who loved him.
“Everything is up to date in Salt Lake City.”
You will be missed by many, but especially
those that lovingly called you.
