The icon from the Basilica of Our Lady of Zapopan, in Jalisco, Mexico, has been in Utah for a week, brought by Franciscan priests from the basilica. Many miracles are attributed to the Virgin, including the conversion to Christianity of the indigenous people in the Tzapopan region of Mexico. Among the stops for the icon were Saint George Parish, the Madeleine Choir School and Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish. A story about the visit will run in the May 13 issue of the Intermountain Catholic.
