Installed as lector

Stephen Tilley, a Diocese of Salt Lake City seminarian, was installed as a lector Jan. 11 at the Pontifical North American College’s chapel by Archbishop Bernard Hebda of the Archdiocese of Newark. Being installed as a lector is one of the first ministries that a seminarian receives on his journey toward priesthood. As the bishop hands the lectionary to the newly installed lector, he says, "Take this book of holy Scripture and be faithful in handing on the word of God, so that it may grow strong in the hearts of his people."
