With this issue, the Intermountain Catholic begins its annual subscription drive. The drive runs through October. As the official newspaper for the Diocese of Salt Lake City, we strive to bring you news about your parish, the diocese, and issues of interest from the nation and the world. In recent weeks we have reported on the 2011 Pastoral Congress, which focused on the stewardship effort now underway in the diocese, and special events such as the Bishop’s Dinner and the Red Mass. Our national coverage has included stories about how other cities honored the anniversary of 9/11, and a profile of this year’s Lumen Christi award winner. Much of our international coverage centers on Pope Benedict XVI, but we also feature news of how various countries are responding to significant issues within their borders. In addition to our print edition, the Intermountain Catholic hosts a website, www.icatholic.org, which allows immediate access to the current edition as well as three years of archives. Bishop John C. Wester’s Tuesday Tapestry blog may be read in its entirety online, and we now have videos as well. Our new Facebook page is regularly updated, often with photo albums from recent events at various parishes. We’re also on Twitter, which allows us to update you on breaking news, or remind you of upcoming events.
