SALT LAKE CITY — Leopoldo J. Vigil, 86, died Sept. 28, 2011. Vigil was born to Antonio and Eduvijen Gallegos Vigil, June 30, 1925 in El Rito, N.M. He married the love of his life, Viola Gonzales. Vigil served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Vigil is survived by his wife Viola, eight children: Velma, Lucie, Steve (Lucy), Dona (Hak) Kim, Helen (Bobby), Tino, Cornel, Rosendo; 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, his brother Tony (Lillie); sisters Arcelia Baca and Orelia (Louis) Baca; and many nieces and nephews. Vigil is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
