The third-grade students at Blessed Sacrament School enjoyed a visit with Brent Thomson from the Rotary Club of Sandy, who delivered dictionaries and bookmarks to each of them. School officials offer many thanks to Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Sandy, and Big O Tire of Sandy for their generosity in donating the funds to make this possible. During his visit with the third-graders, Thomson explained the many social justice issues with which Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Sandy are involved. The students were particularly interested in the water purification efforts around the world. Third-grader Abigail Fowler was excited about learning how to use the dictionary and using it in different class assignments, while Alex Harvey found the dictionary contained more than just definitions of words. He found, for example, that the dictionary contained the seals from different states as well as information on the different Native American tribes that he is studying in class.
