SALT LAKE CITY — Mack Pierotti, 97, died at home on Feb. 21, 2011 in Salt lake City, Utah.

Pierotti was born on July 3, 1913, to Pietro and Angelina Pierotti in Rye, Colo.

He served his country in World War II as a deep sea diver in the Navy. Pierotti owned a successful business in Alamasa, Colo., where he raised his family and was actively involved in community service.

He was an exceptional role model for, not only his children and grandchildren, but for countless others who will mourn his passing.

He is survived by his wife Arlene, two sons: Jimmy Pierotti of Eldridge, Mo., and Ray Pierotti of Durango, Colo.; two daughters: Sharon (John) Ader of Sandy, and Deb Pierotti of Battleboro, Vt.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Pierotti of Walsenburg, Colo., and Lou (Lee) of Los Almos, N.M.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
