SALT LAKE CITY — Manuel Mercado Jr. passed away Sept. 15, 2012. Mercado was born in Florence, Colo., Feb. 7, 1936 to Manuel Mercado Sr. and Annie Ramirez. He married Julie Zavala on Aug. 25, 1956. Mercado is survived by his wife, Julie; children Chris (Gloria), Tina (Chad) Dalpiaz, Denise (Ronnie) Talbot; grandchildren Tim, Sheila, Michelle, Desirae, Chance, Kyra, Kiana, Breylin and Broc; five great-grandchildren; siblings Salvador (Pearl), Isabel, Dorothy, Ernistina, Louisa and Virginia. Mercado was preceded in death by his son, Pete; sisters Emma, Theresa, Rosie, Gloria; and brother Roy; and brother-in-law Victor. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
