OGDEN — Maria "Mary" Olimpia Salazar Perea, 90, passed away March 5, 2014. Perea was born Jan. 26, 1924 in Rio Arriba County, N.M. to Eudoro and Aurelia Martinez Salazar. She married John J. Perea in Price. She was a member of Saint James the Just Catholic Church, where she was in the choir for 40 plus years, promoter of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, CCD teacher and a member of the Prayer Group for several years. Perea is survived by children Paulette Blair, John Perea, Steven T. Perea, Patrick L. Perea and Jacqueline M. Perea; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings Theodore (Lois) Salazar, Virginia Salazar and Loretta (Earl) Conroy. Perea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Paul Gregory, grandson Todd W. Smit, brothers Samuel and Phillip Salazar, and son-in-law Virgil A. Blair. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James the Just Catholic Church.
