 May 12, 1930 ~ January 13, 2018

Molly M. Cahill peacefully left us on January 13, 2018.

Our beautiful, precious, spitfire of a mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother (GiGi) peacefully left this world to be with her beloved husband and sons in heaven.

Molly was born May 12, 1930 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Margarito and Guadalupe Alviso Martinez. She was the second of six beautiful daughters. She lived in Imperial Valley, Calif. for a short time and attended Boyle Heights All Girls School in Los Angeles. She never lost her southern California spirit; it shined forever in her soul.

She married the love of her life, Albert Cahill, on Feb. 23, 1957 in Los Angeles, and lived in Downey, Calif. before moving to Utah in 1960. She raised four boys: Timothy, Thomas, Michael and Patrick; one daughter, Mary; and a nephew, John. She spent her life dedicated to her family. She enjoyed hiking, music, gardening, dancing, golfing, traveling, and a nice glass of wine (or two). She enjoyed spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud of.

She is survived by her children, Michael, Patrick, Mary (Paul) Cahill-Gregerson; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jessica “Jessie” Jones, Suzanna “Sue” Giachetti and Margarite “Margie” Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; sons Timothy and Thomas; and sisters Catalina and Martina.

A funeral Mass was celebrated January 19, 2018 at Saint Olaf Catholic Church. Committal was at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Many thanks to the lovely girls at Sheer Indulgence for pampering our sweet mom, grandma and great-grandma every other weekend. Also thank you to the amazing support staff at the University of Utah Hospital Acute Care.
