Monsignor J. Terrence Fitzgerald's Retirement 

Most have heard the news that Monsignor Fitzgerald has announced his retirement for later this year. By any standard it is difficult – if not impossible – to measure the contributions Monsignor has made and will continue to make to our diocese. For practically his entire life he has served this local Church and beyond with distinction, selflessness, compassion and vision. His ministry is unparalleled in our time and it reminds me of our founding bishop, whose courage and tireless efforts laid the foundation for the Diocese we call home. There will be many opportunities for us to express our gratitude to Msgr. Fitzgerald, but I want to take this opportunity to begin what I'll never be able to fully complete, namely, expressing the thanks of a diocese to a most remarkable priest of God. Please join me in keeping Msgr. Fitzgerald in prayer as he begins the transition to a new chapter in his life and ours. God bless you, Monsignor!
