Nada Cizmas George

SALT LAKE CITY — Nada Cizmas George, 83, passed away on May 6, 2014 of pancreatic cancer.  

George was born in Gary, Ind. on Aug. 14, 1930, to Mary Sopocy Cizmas and Lester Cizmas. She was active in numerous charities, including the Assistance League, the Soup Kitchen, Holy Cross Hospital, and the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish. She was a patron of the arts, and sat on the Board of Directors of the Utah Opera, Ballet West,  the Museum of Natural History and the Utah Symphony. She married the late Mitchell Michael George of Salt Lake City in 1955. 

George is survived by three children: Michael Mitchell George (Lynne), Anthony George and Victoria George; two grandchildren; and her sisters and brother Mary Esther Smith, Virginia Carija, Thomas Cizmasa, and Joan Cizmas Buchta. 

Burial is private.
