The National Day of Prayer, which is celebrated the first Thursday in May, was celebrated this year in Utah on May 5 with a community leadership breakfast held at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper. At the ecumenical event, Father Langes Silva, judicial vicar for the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City, gave the opening prayer (shown). Fr. Silva prayed in part for peace in the world, and "that our prayers today may be a sign of unity and peace in our families and our city, that our supplications may be symbols of actions of sharing with our brothers and sisters, especially those in
need." IC photo/Marie Mischel
