SALT LAKE CITY — A search committee has undertaken the task of finding a new principal for Judge Memorial Catholic High School.

In a June 18 statement, the Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, said he appreciates the many accomplishments of Rick Bartman, who has served as Judge Memorial principal since 2007, but that he has decided “to entrust the leadership of JMCHS to one who can lead the school into the next chapter of its successful and exemplary life with a special emphasis on building community.”

The institution “has distinguished itself as a college preparatory high school that is second to none. With new leadership, and building on Mr. Bartman’s contributions, I know that it has an even brighter future,” the bishop continued.

During the search for the new principal, Kate Bills, a JMCHS teacher and administrator, will serve as the school’s interim administrator.
