The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City; Father José Barrera, parochial vicar of the Cathedral of the Madeleine; and Deacon Scott Dodge lead the Palm Sunday procession at the Cathedral’s 11 a.m. Mass on Palm Sunday. The celebration, which moves from revering Jesus to reviling him and calling for his crucifixion, “serves to highlight a reality described well by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the dividing line between good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. But it is only by his crucifixion and resurrection ... that Jesus definitively demonstration his lordship – that is, his divinity,” Deacon Dodge said in his homily.
