Golden Celebration! Deacon Dave and his wife LaRee Osman, members of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on April 8 with their family of seven children and spouses, 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Msgr. Francis Mannion, pastor, blessed their marriage after the 5 p.m. Mass at Saint Vincent Parish on April 9.

Go Griffins! Trent Herbert, a member of Saint Catherine of Siena/Newman Center and a senior at Skyline High School, has signed a letter of intent to play Division II lacrosse with Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Penn. Herbert is currently on Brady’s Bunch and has also played on Utah Select, Utah Starz, and Draper Dogs.

Young Scientists! J.E. Cosgriff Memorial School made a spectacular showing at this year’s Salt Lake Valley Science and Engineering Fair Awards. Caroline Holyoak: 2nd place Cellular and Molecular Biology; Sara Shum: 1st place Chemistry and Broadcom MASTERS™ (top 10% of scores in the Junior Division); Mikaela Schmiett: 2nd place Engineering: Electrical and Mechanical Special award from the Association of Women Geoscientists; Ian Gorrell-Brown: 1st place Engineering: Materials and Bioengineering; Paul Oliver: 1st place Environmental Sciences and Broadcom MASTERS™ Lindsay Ryan: 1st place Medicine and Health Sciences and Broadcom MASTERS™; Connor Morgan: 2nd place Medicine and Health Sciences; Gillian Young: 1st place Microbiology and Broadcom MASTERS™; Miranda Rougelot: 2nd place Physics and Astronomy and Broadcom MASTERS™; and Rachel Shubella, participant. In addition to the nine students winning awards from Cosgriff, Manny Condas (not shown) from St. Francis Xavier Regional School received third place in Medicine and Health Sciences in the Junior Division, and Nicholas Allred (not shown) from Kearns - St. Ann School received third place in Physics and Astronomy, Junior Division.

Born to be a Covergirl! Karli Y. Gribble, a member of Saint Mary Parish in West Haven and a senior at Fremont High School, was named the cover model in ‘Utah Dance Fest’ competition, which was held at Utah State University in Logan. She was selected from a field of more than 50 entrants. At the competition, she also competed with her drill team "Silverline" under her coach’s dance studio, Inspire Dance. Gribble has been accepted to the University of Utah.
