All-American High! Koko Novak, a junior at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, has been named a 2011 Utah Chapter Academic All-American in girls’ lacrosse. Koko competed in the national competition, for the Utah/Idaho team, over Memorial Day weekend with girls from across the country. Her fellow Judge classmate Amelia Wolfgramm, a freshman, also earned All-American status in swimming. Amelia capped off her rookie season being named the 2010-2011 UHSAA 3A Female Swimmer of the Year. Both Novak and Wolfgramm have excelled in their studies at Judge, receiving Scholar-Athlete Awards for earning a 3.5 or higher during their competitive season, and both consistently appeared on the Judge Memorial honor roll.

Running for the Title! Colin Boevers, Judge Memorial Class of ‘07, and Luke Puskedra, Judge Memorial Class of ‘08, will both be competing on June 8 at the 2011 NCAA Track and Field championships. Boevers will be representing the University of Kentucky in the discus throw as the two-time defending Southeastern Conference Champion. Puskedra will be representing the University of Oregon in the 10,000m race. At the Ducks’ annual track and field banquet held in May, Luke won the men’s Bill Dellinger Cross Country Award.

Hitting a High Note! Choristers of The Madeleine Choir School, sang the national anthem and "America the Beautiful" at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Salt Lake City Public Safety Building on May 31.

A Quest for Excellence! Mary Zost and Dan Goodman, graduating seniors from Judge Memorial CHS, have both been named 2011 Quest Scholars by the Utah Council of Teachers of English. Zost was a first place honoree in both Poetry Slam and Editing Test. Goodman was a second place honoree in Poetry Slam.

Running Forward! John Asher, Jake Franklin, and A.C. Brown, all parishioners at Saint Catherine of Siena, founded the non-profit Running Forward three years ago to teach healthy living habits, self-esteem, and leadership skills to at-risk youth. On June 4, over 30 youth participants and 12 volunteers capped off their year of programming with a 5k run on the University of Utah campus.
