Living Rosary! Saint Mary Catholic Church had 50 people gather as part of the parish’s Second Annual Respect Life Weekend. Superior Print! Judge Memorial CHS’s literary magazine has been awarded the rank of "Superior" in the 2011 National Council of Teachers of English program. Lindsey Reemsnyder was the editor-in-chief of the 2011 issue of Catharsis. Other student editors were Emily Andrews, lay-out editor; Erin Cole, photography editor; Kate Berry, art editor; Alexandra Menzdorf, prose editor; and Dan Goodman and Shepard Scott, poetry co-editors. The 2011 issue featured the prose, photography, art and poetry of over 40 students, in all grade levels. Holy Anniversaries! Msgr. Lawrence Sweeney, retired, will celebrate the 58th anniversary of his ordination on Jan. 24; Father Jerome Kim, in residence at Saint Ambrose, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his ordination on Jan. 28; and Father Vincent Govorchin, retired, will celebrate the 57th anniversary of his ordination Jan. 30. Home-run Scholarship! Presley Whetman, senior at Juan Diego CHS, signed a letter of intent to play softball (centerfielder) with the College of Southern Nevada.
