Holy Anniversary! Father Beda Msaki, parochial administrator for Saint James the Greater Parish in Vernal and Saint Helen Parish in Roosevelt, will celebrate the 13th anniversary of his ordination on July 4. One More Award! Caitlin Gruis was among the award recipients from last week’s announcement of the book award winners from Judge Memorial CHS. Gruis received the award from Smiths College. We apologize for this oversight of omitting her last week. A Diamond Year! Marvin and Connie Priske, parishioners of Saint Thomas More, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23. Cool Science! Layne Haber and Anthony Fratto Oyler, upcoming seniors at Judge Memorial CHS, will be spending the summer at the University of Utah as interns in chemistry research labs. Top LAX Honors! Patrick Griffin (attack) and Andrew Rechsteiner (defense), from Judge Memorial CHS, were selected for Division I first-team All-State honors by the Utah Lacrosse. Also honored for Assistant Coach of the Year was Ed Scott for Judge Memorial CHS. For Juan Diego CHS Zach Bullett also received first team honors. Creative Juices! Bronwyn Stockton, who will be a freshman at Juan Diego Catholic High School during the next school year, took honorable mention in the youth poetry division of the Utah Arts Festival’s Iron Pen writing contest. Her poem was titled ‘The Graffiti.’ Along with the other winners, she read her work on stage June 26 during the festival.
