Led by Pastor Corey Hodges of The Point Church, Bishop Oscar A. Solis and Maria-Cruz Gray, director of the Diocese of Salt Lake City Office of Hispanic Ministry, pray for pastors and their churches during the 67th Observance of the National Day of Prayer on May 3. The local prayer breakfast was held at the RL Hotel. The Rev. Gregory Johnson of Standing Together gave the welcome. Pastor Jim Ayers of Life Church offered the opening prayer. The Utah National Guard presented the national anthem and posting of the colors. Chris Croswhite of the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake led the Pledge of Allegiance. Major General Jeff Burton, Adjutant General of the Utah National Guard, gave the greeting. The keynote speaker was Pastor Sieg Krueger of Mountain View Christian Assembly. The breakfast, which was titled “Pray for America,” honored Senator Howard Stephenson and Representative A. Cory Maloy. Tim Drisdom, worship pastor at The Point Church, was in charge of the music. Governor Gary Herbert spoke and read the proclamation. The closing remarks and prayer were given by Senator Brian Zehnder.
