The memorial to the unborn at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lake City was the site for the local prayer gathering for the Sept. 9 National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. Fr. Gabriel Mosher, O.P., was the speaker; those attending also recited the rosary. In his comments, Fr. Mosher said in part that “even though we have come so far in all these years, we’ve come so far in being able to overturn Roe v Wade, praise God, and other legislation that allows us to freely assault this work against human life, we now have an even more difficult battle, and that’s the battle for each soul here in the U.S.” and in other countries. “The battle for life does not end in just protecting our state and our nation against abortion, legally,” he added, because other assaults on the dignity of life, such as pornography and human trafficking are major issues. “Something is broken, and we have to be an agent of healing, an agent of grace, an agent of love. Because quite frankly that is what will conquer all these assaults on human life – true, abiding, powerful love that is fueled not by us, but by the grace of God. ” IC photo/Marie Mischel
