Raymond Joseph Etcheverry

OGDEN — Raymond Joseph Etcheverry, 94, died peacefully June 20, 2016.

Raymond was born Aug. 11, 1921. He lived a long productive and happy life with his one and only love, Julia, to whom he was married for 68 years. 

Raymond was a wool grower and a rancher, actively working into his 80s. 

He graduated from Ogden High School in 1939, where he was an outstanding student and accomplished pianist. 

Raymond is survived by his wife, Julia; his five children: Claire (Roland) Etcheverry, Roseville, Calif.; Raymond J. (Kathryn) Etcheverry, Salt Lake City; Daniel (Anita) Etcheverry, Layton; Josette Etcheverry, San Pedro, Calif.; and Julie Rae (Michael) Sullivan, Ogden; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and sister Marie Louise Yriarte.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John.

The family would like to thank his hospice caregivers, Julie, Marcos and Ryan; and his caregivers Javier and Aaron, all of whom cared for him with great kindness. 

A funeral Mass was held at St. James the Just Catholic Church. Interment was in Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the St. James Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
