SALT LAKE CITY — Rita Barbiero Costanzo, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully May 20, 2011, in the home she cherished.

Costanzo was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Pedivigliano, Italy, to Giuseppina Burza and Felice Barbiero. She married her sweetheart, Massimo Costanzo, on Aug. 30, 1946. They had three sons in the Old World before sailing off to the New World, where they added a daughter.

Costanzo was a devout Catholic, and she was grateful to the Saint Ann Parish community for providing her with weekly Holy Communion after ill health prevented her from attending Sunday Mass. She never went to sleep without first praying the rosary for those she loved

Costanzo is survived by her husband, Massimo; sons Fausto (Barbara), Ruggiero aka Roger, and Giuseppe aka Joe (Sylvia Kronstadt); daughter Maria Teresa aka Mary (Brad) Andreason; grand-daughter Tina (Daymond) Kofford; great-grandchildren Kylie and Hunter, and many nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Italy.
