Roy D. Wasmer Jr. passed away March 18, 2018.

Roy was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He married his wife, Armande (Amy), in August 1957. Together they had four children. In 1978 they moved to Salt Lake City.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He loved golf, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family.

He was a parishioner at the Cathedral of the Madeline, where he served as an usher and spent time singing with the choir. He was also a faithful member of The Knights of Columbus.

In 2008, Roy and Amy moved to Scottsdale, Az.

Roy was kind, very patient and understanding; a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He would do anything to help his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Donnie and nephew Brent.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amy; daughter Jude (Mark); sons Chris and Scott; his best friend and brother Bob (Marlene); sisters Rita (Bob) and Janice (Mike); seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom he loved all so much.

Roy was one of a kind and will truly be missed.

Roy was laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Az.
