KEARNS — Principal Patrick Reeder and members of the Student Core from Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School represented their school at the Year of Faith prayer service at the Cathedral of the Madeline on Oct. 11.

The students described the experience as beautiful and breathtaking. The most valuable concept that 8th-grader Rosanna Tafaoialii walked away with was unity and how important it is for Christians to come together to show their faith in the Lord, she said.

Eighth-grader Hailey Smith said she was inspired by the large number of people who attended the service including students from other Catholic schools, parents, teachers and even those from other faiths.

Sixth-grader Mariah Trujillo and 8th-grader Melissa Aguilar said they were moved by the beautiful voices of the Madeline Choir School. The highlight for the Saint Francis Student Core members was having the opportunity to meet and shake hands with Bishop John C. Wester following the service.
