Saint Joseph Catholic High School in Ogden has always maintained an exceptional record of academic excellence. We have been recognized for the past four years as one of the nation’s top and most challenging private schools by The Washington Post. Our ACT composite scores averaged 24.7, placing our high school in the Top 3 in the State of Utah, and next year Saint Joseph CHS will be designated an AP Capstone high school.

Our small but mighty school also finds success in many of our extracurricular activities, despite having a “no-cut policy,” where every student is given the opportunity to participate. We are building self-esteem, and building our students individual talents and teaching the importance of teamwork.

Nearly 50 percent of our students participate through classes, productions and competitions in the theater department. Our students regularly receive recognition for their outstanding work across all genre of theater. Biannually, we combine with Saint Joseph Catholic Elementary School on our musical; this is a cherished tradition for our community that builds bridges across our campus and prepares the youngest students for their high school experience.

This past December Saint Joseph CHS performed “Mary Poppins” with the elementary school. We had more than 80 students perform nightly to sellout crowds. Five of our high school students were recognized for their outstanding performances by the Utah High School Musical Awards, to be held in May. Those students were Best Actress Hannah Olsen, Best Actor Jagger Moon, Best Supporting Actress Matraca Bartel, Best Supporting Actor Jacob Behnken and Best Cameo Appearance Athena Shirtleff.

Our theater department has become an integral part of our Saint Joseph CHS identity thanks to the vision of our theater director, support of our community and the talents of our theater faculty and students.
