Scout Religious Emblems Awards ceremony Jan. 31

SALT LAKE CITY — A special ceremony for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to receive their religious emblems from the Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, will be held on Jan. 31 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.

Part of the mission of Cub Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts is to care for others and work to make their lives easier, qualities that also reflect Catholic values. These religious emblems are symbols or signs that the Scouts think of others and care for others; perform service for others. 

What:  Scout Saturday

Where:  The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City

When: Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 All families are asked to bring a dozen cookies to share at a reception following the ceremony.
